Mazel's Mansion (Halloween Special)

Adventure Date: October 30, 2012

Forgotten Realms Date: 1479 DR, The 2nd day of Ches

Mazel is an old Mage that somehow terrifies you and makes you curious at the same time.  In his prescience you feel like your own abilities are nothing but dust in the wind.  Without him we would have had to walk several miles to our destination...but I'm not so sure the encounter was worth it... At least I know that there are people in this world who can live for what seems to be an eternity and yet still remain as powerful...just look at the Old Red Mage Elminster .he is another prime example..though I wouldn't compare him to Mazel at all.  - Axio

After regrouping and discussing things over with Shenka Fari about the destination revealed on the enchanted map, she suggested the group seek out the help of an Old mage named Mazel.  His Mansion was close by and he was their best bet on getting a ride to our destination.  However, since the old mage didn’t awake until night they had to kill some time during the day.  Many went shopping while others raised a-muck in the local Hillsfar tavern.  Pixies really can’t help themselves when fun is involved, especially when a food fight broke out which angered the tavern owners something fierce.   Thankfully, the Pixies cunning got her back to the group before sunset.
Once night approached they set out toward Mazels Mansion.  Those who previously questioned Shenka Fari about the Mage found out that he was a Necromancer, so it was no surprise when a zombie answered the front door.   He then led them to the Old Mage.  After the Nixxa calmed the old Mage by the mention of Shenka Fari’s name, we were tasked with “Cleaning out his garden” in hopes that we could use his Teleportation device.  We soon found out this meant killing a horde of zombies and bug like creatures, Not to mention the rat-men(were-rats).  After nearly defeating all creatures, we let one of the rat-men escape under the premise that his ugliness was due to misfortunate genetics. The were-rat was very grateful and left without a fuss.  Then Terios landed the killing blow on the final zombie.   Mazel quickly (as quick as he could for an old man) came through the gate to his garden and said “Good you cleaned out the garden.”  He then opened up the portal with the Teleportation device, which we all stepped through.   Now in a clearing within a forest area, predicted by our map, the majority of the group rests while some keep watch.

Our Goal:  The map was altered, by the West Moon Company, such that the borders were changed as a legal pretense for operating there.  We are now out to discover just what the West Moon Company was up to in that region.  They must have a reason for changing that area on the map.
