The journey begins..

Adventure Date: November 29, 2012

Forgotten Realms Date: 1479 DR, The 4th day of Ches

Once back in Hillsfar, they decided to see Shenka Fari.  They told her about what happend.  She then went to meet with the Senators in Hillsfar to explain what had occurred.  When she came back she told the group the following:

“I’ve been meeting with several of the Senators here in Hillsfar and many of them have been hearing rumors that someone is selling pieces of a summoning device, this is proof that it was no rumor. A little research has found that the original summoning device was quite large and much of it was destroyed when Netheril sacked Zhentil Keep. What was still in working order was taken by the Nethril shade mages for their own use.”

“There are rifts that can be found throughout the realms that were created by the Spellplague. It appears to be random as to where the rifts open. The rumors are however that it’s been discovered that some of the broken pieces that were left behind can be used with the rifts that the Spellplague has opened somehow.”

“We don’t know how many of these pieces were sold, but if the rumor is true these pieces must be found. There is an expert scryer, or tracer if you prefer, by the name of Ondrath Everwood in Cormyr that can use the piece you found to locate the others.”
“The Senators of Hillsfar think that this is a matter of enough importance that they are willing to back a small party to deliver the piece. Through much talking with the senators and convincing on my part they have agreed to hire Draconus, Pern and Terios for this task. I almost wasn’t able to get Jalth to agree to using outsiders for this job, however while you were gone I’ve had talks with Ilsevele, (Coronal of Myth Drannor) and it’s been agreed that Axio, Rimeron, Nixxxa & Starfire should accompany you. Once I mentioned that this task would take your party, specifically Axio well outside of the borders of Hillsfar he couldn’t sign the paperwork fast enough.”

“You must deliver this paperwork to Cormyr requesting a royal charter for your adventuring group. This will cost 25gp, which will be provided, and you will need to supply a name for your Adventuring party that will be named in the charter. The charter is good for one year and will allow your party to legally act within the borders of Cormyr. Until then I have arranged for you to travel with the West Moon Trading Company (the real West Moon Trading Company) who has a shipment of merchandise to go to Cormyr.”

“Currently there is a gathering of the Cormyr nobles for a council with King Foril so security is going to very heavy, and until you receive your charter this delivery is the best way to get you in the gates.”
“You will receive 25 gp each, when you get to Cormyr make sure to exchange them for Golden Lions, they only take foreign currency if a few places. I took no small amount of charm on my part to get Jalth to agree to that I might add, for this mission. After Ondrath has located the rest of the summoning pieces you must send a courier back to Hillsfar with the list and you will receive further instructions from there. The West Moon caravan is leaving tomorrow so get whatever supplies you need for your trip, and good luck. I’ve taken the liberty of setting you up at the Inn tonight.”

The group then went back to the Inn for some relaxation before their journey.
